Choosing an RFID system
When choosing an RFID hardware solution for your operation, it is important to keep several factors in mind:
Does the RFID product conform to the Auto ID Inc. and EPC Global specifications and will it meet the Wal-Mart and Department of Defense requirements?
Will the RFID hardware be interoperable with other vendors such as handhelds, printers, tags and readers and are there multiple sources?
Will the tags work globally?
Does the application require a writable versus pre-programmed tag?

We were the first manufacturer of Class 1 EPC tags in the world, and our tags conform to the RFID requirements for both Wal-Mart and the Department of Defense's RFID initiatives.Because Alien's products are EPC Class 1 compliant, they are fully interoperable with any vendor's Class 1 product, including printers, handhelds, labels etc. Alien's class 1 tags work globally, supporting manufacturers that ship their product outside the United States. Alien Class 1 tags are fully writable, allowing customers to stock one type of tag for all of their RFID needs, eliminating the need to keep inventory of a different tag for each SKU as in the case of Class 0 tags.
