The Intermec MobileLAN access 2106 sets the new standard in high performance wireless networking. Based on the award-winning Atheros chipset, and a new hardware architecture, the 2106 supports 802.11a-standard data rates up to 54 Mbps and turbo operation up to 72 Mbps.

Now wireless technology supports data throughput rates comparable with mainstream wired LAN technology. The 802.11a-based 2106 opens up a new range of applications for wireless - at a price competitive with 802.11b technology.

Enterprise-ready feature set
Intermec MobileLAN access 2106 continues to expand the rich feature set within Intermec access points. New features include RADIUS server support for client and AP Authentication. The unit supports DHCP for both client/server and NAT. This heightened functionality joins a standout feature set resident in all Intermec MobileLAN access points, including IP tunneling support, system-wide software distribution and more.

Rock solid support for roaming clients
Industry-leading seamless IP tunneling. This feature allows multiple subnet mobility for any IP client without the need for device-specific IP mobility software. The 2106 also provides wireless bridging support and serves as a repeater. Intermec MobileLAN access 2106 expands the IT manager's options with power over Ethernet, which eliminates expensive wiring when power for Intermec MobileLAN access 2106 is obtained over the Ethernet LAN.

Full manageability
Enhanced software within Intermec MobileLAN access 2106 makes installing and configuring new access points easier than ever. Administrators can configure new units and receive IP address assignments quickly and easily, over the Ethernet or radio connection and without a special serial cable for initial configuration.

IT managers can quickly identify and solve network problems using MobileLAN manager- Intermec's network management software solution MobileLAN OIC manager continually monitors the indication of 2106 access points and provides comprehensive status reports in real time and, whenever possible, provides an analysis of the cause for quicker problem resolution. The Intermec MobileLAN access 2106 is also fully SNMP enabled, with published MIBs for integration into other management platforms.

MobileLAN access 2106 is part of the comprehensive family of MobileLAN wireless products. Based on new OFDM technology, the 2106 is among the first in the industry to support the new high speed 5GHz standard, IEEE 802.11a.
