The Psion Teklogix Workabout MX Scanner is an integrated barcode-scanning computer that provides a lightweight and compact solution for reading barcodes. It combines the power and ruggedness of Psion's successful Psion Teklogix Workabout with the latest in laser scanning technology. It is ideal for a wide Variety of non-contact barcode reading applications in manufacturing, transportation, healthcare and retail.
The scanner head is adjustable enabling the user to set the angle to the most comfortable level for the task in hand. The keyboard is also fitted with a large "Scan" key, placed on the upper part of the keyboard for easy operation. To ensure fail safe scanning, a bright indicator and audible beeper on the Psion Workabout MX Scanner confirms the code has been successfully scanned and accepted by the application. The Scanner recognizes all common barcode symbologies.
The standard rechargeable Psion Workabout MX NiCd battery pack typically provides power for scanning over an 8-hour shift. For more scan intensive applications an optional Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery pack is also available. The NiMH and NiCd pack can both be fast charged using the Psion Workabout Docking Station or Workabout Multiple Docking Station.

External expansion Built-in low insertion force port (LIF- PFS) connects to a Docking Holster providing communications (via Psion 3Link peripherals) to PCs and printers, external power and battery trickle charging. The Docking Station, Multiple Docking Station and the Vehicle Interface Cradle also connect via the LIF and provide a wide range of charging and communication facilities. Internal expansion Factory fitted internal expansion options available for the bottom port.
